Siobhan Stewart wins in round 4 with 50.4% of the vote (3119 votes).

 

Voter turnout for the 2012 MSU Presidential election set a new all-time record for ballots cast with 6703 students voting. This represents 33.4% of the eligible voters. This is an increase of nearly 10% over last year’s election turnout and is the highest percentage of voter turnout since 1998.

3. Go back and click ’View Results’

4. Scroll to the bottom and download the spreadsheet of results (or get them here)

5. Open the file with excel (it’s a .csv file)

6. Search for your receipt number, ensure the votes match your choices

Candidate Updates

January 20
Your names are public and have been published on the website and will be fairly well known today and over the weekend. Please understand that although you may be approached, campaigning has not started and so you can’t discuss your platform or your campaign. Feel free to say that you are running and to look out for campaigns to start Monday.

If you would like to have someone else authorized to use your printing credit, please let me know and they will be added. Also, the credits will be available by 11:00 am today.



January 18
The all-candidates meeting will be held in HH 302, at 6 pm January 19. You MUST attend or inform us beforehand if you can’t make it in order to be eligible to run.

Events throughout the campaign period are as follows:

Presidential Pub Night at 1280 - 6 pm Jan 24
Informal style debate, with a ’meet the candidates’ time. Free appetizers will be provided, and the restaurant and bar are open.

Presidential Debate - noon January 31
More structured debate, running about two hours. Will focus less on a stream of questions and more on discussions on issues that arise from the campaign.

January 10
All Presidential candidates will have access to a printing credit of $250 at Undergound, along with the MSU service discount rate at Underground and the MSU club rate at AVtek on January 20. This is to save you money and give you access to more campaigning options. All of these will be available at 9 am January 20 for registered candidates. Feel free to prepare campaign material in advance, and you may contact AVtek sooner, but don’t print anything until the 20.

The MUSC posting policy has been added to the nomination packages online. Please familiarize yourselves with appropriate locations in the Student Centre. 

January 4
Full nomination packages are now available at the MSU front desk, and online. The finalized rules have also been posted, with no significant changes made.

January 3
The following rules are tentative. Please take a look and familiarize yourself with them, but understand there may be changes made.
