I already have coverage!!! Now what do I do???
If you are already covered by another health plan, but you are not covered 100%, you may utilize our Health plan and combine it with your current plan to have 100% coverage. Look into your benefits to compare the two before you opt-out, as the MSU may provide some coverage options that are not currently provided under your own health plan.
Students may opt out of the MSU Health Insurance Plan if they can provide proof of comparable coverage under another Insurance plan BEFORE September 30, 2011.
Proof of comparable coverage includes the Plan name and Policy number in which you are currently covered. No documentation of proof is required to opt out unless requested by our Insurance provider.
** OHIP and UHIP does not constitute as comparable coverage **
