Oral Contraceptives

 
Birth control pills, Evra patch and the Nuva Ring are dispensed at a reduced cost to Campus Health patients who have a current prescription from a physician at the Campus Health Centre. The Centre is located in the McMaster University Student Centre Room B101. The Emergency Contraceptive Pill is available at low cost as well.
 

Certain Over-the-Counter Drugs

 
Creams relating to yeast infections such as Canesten, Monistat, Gynecure; allergy medicines such as Claritin, Reactine, Hismanal, Seldane; and injected allergy serums are covered under the plan (with a written or itemized receipt from a pharmacy).
 
 

Tutorial Expense Benefit

 
If within 100 days of an accident, the Insured is disabled and confined to a home or hospital and confinement continues for 15 consecutive school days, the actual expenses incurred from the first day for private tutorial service of a qualified teacher (up to $10.00 per hour, limited to a maximum of $300.00) will be paid.
 

Accident Expense Reimbursement

 
When the Insured suffers accidental bodily injuries and is referred by a physician for treatments within 30 days, the Insurer shall reimburse the Insured for the following expenses:

- Treatment by a qualified physiotherapist, naturopath, chiropractor or speech therapist (up to 20 treatments at $25.00 per treatment per injury     

- Crutches, splints, trusses, braces, rental of wheelchair or hospital-type bed or required treatment in a semi-private room in a hospital, including x-ray, nurses fees, and prescribed medicine

- Payment for hospital room shall be limited to the difference between public ward accomodations and semi-private accomodations

- Repair/replacement of broken eyeglasses up to $200.00

- Payment for when injury to whole or sound teeth requires and receives initial treatment within 30 days from the date of the accident, benefits will be paid for the expense of necessary treatment payable by the plan, within 365 days of the date of the accident, up to a maximum of $1,000.00.  Capped or crowned teeth are considered sound or whole.

Maximum reimbursement of $2,500.00 for all expenses incurred resulting from any one accident, except eyeglass breakage, which is paid over and above the $2,500.00 maximum.
