Advocacy Street Team

What is the Advocacy Street Team?

A large and important pillar of the MSU is called Advocacy. The MSU advocates on behalf of all full-time McMaster undergraduate students to the university and all levels of government. The MSU engages in discussion with McMaster, the City of Hamilton, the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada; these are all important decision makers who influence the student experience here at Mac. That’s why it’s integral that the MSU represents McMaster students to ensure that our views and interests are made clear to those at decision-making tables.

As part of the Advocacy Street Team, you will be able to be part of the organization and promotion of events on campus that strive to educate students about the MSU’s advocacy efforts. Additionally, you will be able to gather student feedback, as well as your own, in various important topics, such as accessibility, financial assistance and teaching quality. By working alongside lobbying organizations such as OUSA (Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance), you will have the opportunity to participate in conferences, policy-making, and social events.
