Liyana

McMaster University Health Sciences Centre, Room 1A1
March 21, 2019 from 07:00PM until 09:00PM

Set in a Swaziland orphanage, Liyana is a documentary that follows five amazing children taking a class with a master storyteller.   The children transform their own real-life experiences into an original fable using beautiful animations.  An ode to the power of storytelling and the strength of the human spirit, Liyana is an uplifting, genre-defying film for all generations that's not to be missed!

Admission by donation with proceeds going to the Grandmothers Campaign of The Stephen Lewis Foundation. This campaign, launched in 2006 continues to support African grandmothers in their ongoing struggle to turn the tide of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
