The courses being offered the May 18/19 weekend are: 

1-Standard First Aid & CPR/AED (Level A, or C) 2 days

 

Cost: $90.00

This course provides comprehensive First Aid and CPR techniques. Material includes the content of the Emergency First Aid course, such as recognizing and responding to cardiovascular emergencies, CPR, choking, airway and breathing emergencies, assisting with medications, and prevention of disease transmission. Additionally, Standard First Aid includes sudden medical emergencies, injuries to the head, neck, or spine, environmental emergencies and poisons.  Certification lasts for 3 years.

CPR Level A: CPR and choking procedures for adults.

CPR Level C: CPR and choking procedures for an adult, child, and baby.

Additionally, modified jaw thrusts for suspected spinal injuries, pulse checks, assisted respirations (rescue breathing), and 2-rescuer CPR with bag-valve mask use is covered. **NOTE: BLS + Oxygen Administration is available by request only: Please email efrtasst@msu.mcmaster.ca if this is of interest. CPR BLS certifications expire after 1 year.**

4-Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED (Level A or C) 1 day-Saturday
