Apply to be an EFRT Responder until September 8

Applications to be a Responder for the MSU Emergency First Response Team (EFRT) are due on September 8 at 11:59 PM. The EFRT Responders provide emergency medical services anywhere on the McMaster campus at any time of day, with an average response time of 2 - 3 minutes. To apply, students need to have Standard First Aid and CPR Health Care Provider (HCP) or CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications. Students can apply online at and learn more about the service here.

Those interested in learning more about the service are encouraged to come out to the EFRT Info Night on September 5 from 5 PM - 7:30 PM in MDCL 3022. Responders will be available to discuss hiring processes and CPR refreshers.

The EFRT is a group of approximately 30 student volunteers, who are certified Emergency Medical Responders. Senior members being trained in International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), and Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS). The EFRT is available 24/7 throughout the academic year except during holidays and certain breaks. During the summer, the service is operational on weekdays from 9:00AM - 5:00PM, except on statutory holidays.
