The votes are in and the results have been ratified. Giancarlo Da-Ré has won the 2020 MSU Presidential election and is President-elect of the McMaster Students Union. The President takes office on May 1, 2020 but will begin the transition process in the coming weeks.

The HSR bus referendum ran concurrently with the presidential election. The option of The twelve (12) month pass (September - August) plus expanded service
for a total of $223.92 in year 1, $233.94 in year 2, and $238.37 in year 3 won. The bus pass terms will come into effect in September of 2020 and will continue for three years. The Elections Committee, charged with overseeing all elections of and within the MSU, has completed the campaign evaluation process by assessing fines and addressing complaints levied against candidates. In addition, the Committee has witnessed and ratified the results of the tabulation of votes via Simply Voting, the MSU’s online voting portal. Voter turnout for the Presidential election was 19.1% with 4810 students casting a ballot. The HSR referendum had a voter turnout of 22.9% representing the 5763 students who voted.
Results are considered unofficial at this time, as all candidates have five (5) business days to appeal their fines and contest the results.
