Green Roof Initiative: Artists' Conceptions Ready for Review & Feedback
February 26, 2013 at 17:07 pm
The green roof initiative is progressing well and is ready for more student input. Earlier this year, via a survey, the MSU asked students what they wanted in a green space design. The results were presented as part of a tender package which sought potential interested engineering / design firms. Three potential designs are now available for viewing, as a part of the last next round of student input. Specifically, look at both the designs themselves, as well as the approximate associated costs.
The survey, along with more background information can be found here.
The Green Roof Initiative is an idea originally proposed by group of students from OPIRG. The concept of creating a green space on the third floor balcony of MUSC was brought forward to the student body by Siobhan Stewart in her 2012 Presidential campaign. Since taking office, Siobhan has been working to bring this idea to life, by consulting with students, stakeholders, design firms and a steering committee. The ultimate goal of the project is to renovate the balcony of third floor MUSC to create a green, sustainable environment for students.
Please take a moment to review the potential designs and fill out the survey, as your help is crucial in determining the student perspective.
