University Library Announces Expanded Hours of Operation
July 12, 2013 at 13:18 pm
After consultations with MSU President David Campbell, the University Library has announced new improvements to library hours of operation for the upcoming school year. Thanks to the feedback of McMaster students, Mills, Mills Learning Commons and Innis will all offer some level of increased access.
Mills Learning Commons will dramatically increase its hours of operation for two key time periods in both first and second semester. From October 9th to December 3rd and again from February 24th to April 9th, Mills Learning Commons will operate on a 24/5 weekday schedule.
Both Mills Memorial Library and Thode Library will now offer expanded Friday hours, remaining open until 9:45pm (previously 5:45pm).
During exams in both semesters, Mills Learning Commons and Thode Library will continue to offer 24/7 access.
- Innis Library will continue to offer increased hours of operation during both exam periods. This includes expanding Friday nights until 10:45pm (rather than the usual 5:45pm) and opening Saturdays from 10:30am until 5:45pm.

The MSU welcomes the new improvements and appreciates the University Library’s addressing of numerous student concerns in regards to library hours. The MSU will continue to articulate the student perspective on this front, in hopes of expanding library access even further.
