The MSU and Welcome Day: Get to Know McMaster
July 24, 2014 at 10:15 am
This Friday, July 25th, McMaster will be holding its annual Welcome Day for incoming students, offering soon-to-be first years an opportunity to explore the university campus and the greater Hamilton community. The event, run by McMasters Student Success Center (SSC), runs from 9 AM until 4 PM, and will feature tours of campus, residence buildings, libraries, and athletic facilities in addition to workshops and information fairs highlighting the many services offered by the university and the MSU.
During the day, a number of sessions will be run to introduce students to McMaster. Run in conjunction with the MSU, the SSC will be hosting 'De-bunking the Myths' at 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM featuring a panel of students ready to answer any and all questions about transitioning to University. The MSU will also be helping run 'From High School Student to Scholar' at 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM, a session exploring the attributes that make an academically successful and well rounded university student.
Apart from formal sessions, the MSU Maroons, representatives of the Students Union, will be present on campus to direct visitors and answer any questions regarding university life, on-campus services, and McMaster in general. Additionally, the MSU office will be open from 9 AM to 2 PM for any students interested in learning more about the organization and what goes on behind the scenes.
Registration for Welcome Day 2014 is open until the end of Thursday July 24, and can be completed using your MacID on OSCARplus.
