McMaster students are very concerned about a reduction in OSAP support

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities announced numerous changes to the way in which students will pay for their university education, effective September 2019. A 10% reduction in tuition was announced, coupled with decreases to financial aid support.

Proclamation of the 2019 MSU Presidential Election

The nomination period for the MSU Presidential Election is now open, ending January 9, 2019 at 5 PM. All MSU members (students enrolled in 18 or more units) are able to nominate themselves for the position.

Presidents’ Town Hall: Freedom of Speech - Nov 14

There is a Town Hall happening on Wednesday, November 14 at 11:30am inside TwelvEighty, with the purpose of continuing a dialogue around the “free speech" policy mandated by the provincial government. The event will feature Ikram Farah and Dr. Patrick Deane, alongside Dr. Arig al Shaibah, Associate Vice President (Equity and Inclusion).

MSU Advocacy: Policy Conference registration open until November 9

#MacVotes: Results of the 2018 Municipal Election

On October 22, 2018, the city of Hamilton, including McMaster’s student population, voted to determine the mayor of the city and the respective Ward Councillors. Fred Eisenberger was re-elected as mayor with 54% of the vote, while Maureen Wilson was elected as Ward 1 Councillor with 41.5% of the vote

Teaching Awards nominations are now open

The Teaching Awards Committee runs nomination periods throughout the year, providing students with the opportunity to nominate their favourite professors and teaching assistants (TAs) and recognize their distinction and contribution to the McMaster community. This term, the Teaching Awards nomination period will be open from Monday, October 29 to Friday, November 9.
