Student Input Needed to Help City of Hamilton Budget Process

What would you do with $1.5 million? Ward 1 Councillor, Brian McHattie is currently running a participatory budgeting initiative in hopes of engaging citizens about how they would like to see $1.5 million spent to improve Ward 1 – the area in which McMaster University is located.

VP (Education) Spencer Graham on the Future of PSE

Recently, Vice President (Education) of the MSU, Spencer Graham compiled his thoughts on the future of post-secondary education, as it relates to students in Ontario.  As the VP (Education) of the MSU, Spencer acts as  a Steering Committee member of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), representing the interests of McMaster students to the MSU’s provincial lobbying partner.

University Library Announces Expanded Hours of Operation

After consultations with MSU President David Campbell, the University Library has announced new improvements to library hours of operation for the upcoming school year.  Thanks to the feedback of McMaster students, Mills, Mills Learning Commons and Innis will all offer some level of increased access.

Is SOLAR Causing You a Headache?

Many students describe lengthy waits to log into SOLAR (McMaster’s online course registration platform), only to find required and / or highly recommended courses already full. Other sources of frustration for students are the discrepancies between the master course timetable and SOLAR. MSU VP (Education) would like to hear your stories and share them with University Administration.
