Improving Education at McMaster: Course Evaluations & MSU Course Wiki

Undergraduate course evaluations for the Winter 2016 term are now open until April 11 at 4pm. These online, anonymous evaluations are used to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at McMaster. A team from McMaster has rebuilt the landing page for course evaluations, making it easier to view completion statistics by faculty and course, view graduate and other faculty-specific dates, and provide information about how the evaluations are used by faculty

Survey Shows Student Perceptions of Hamilton Improving

The Your City Survey 2.0 data has been release and the report summarizes the results of the research conducted  over the summer of 2015, as a follow-up to the original Your City Survey from 2011. The series of Your City surveys were designed to gather feedback from students about their experiences in Hamilton, their challenges engaging with the city, and their ideas around what makes a vibrant and happy community.

MSU Vice Presidential Elections April 2 & 3

On April 2 and 3, the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) will elect the three MSU Vice-Presidents and the MSU Speaker for 2016-17. In order to run for a Vice-Presidential position, one need only attend the SRA meetings of April 2 and 3. Students are invited to two VP meet and greet events March 29 and 30 in TwelvEighty.

McMaster students celebrate financial aid announcements within Ontario budget

The McMaster Students Union (MSU), along with its provincial advocacy partner, the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), have long advocated for improvements to financial aid. On February 25, with the release of Ontario’s 2016 provincial budget, the culmination of years of lobbying efforts has students applaud the sweeping and targeted moderninizations to the financial aid system.

MSU's Annual Mental Health Campaign #MacTalks running Feb. 22 - Mar. 4

#MacTalks, the MSU’s annual campaign for mental health, will be held from Monday, February 22 to Friday, March 4, 2016. The aim of the initiative is to reduce mental health stigma on campus, provide disability-related programming, and inform students about the supports available to them.

Valedictorian Award nominations open February 8

Every year, the McMaster Students Union (MSU) recognizes outstanding graduating students in each faculty with the Valedictorian Awards. Each valedictorian gives an address at their respective convocation. The nomination period opens February 8 and closes March 7. All relevant information, including the nomination package, is available via msumcmaster.ca/valedictorian.
