Nominations open for the by-election of the 2020/21 Vice-President (Education)

There will be a by-election held on August 23 for the position of 2020-2021 Vice-President (Education). The Student Representative Assembly (SRA) welcomes nominations from MSU members (full-time undergraduate students), as well as recent graduates (who remain MSU members through the end of August 2020).Any one who wishes to run for the position can nominate themselves by email to the MSU Speaker via speaker@msu.mcmaster.ca.

Students will benefit from numerous fee reductions this fall

The MSU has secured a reduction to the cost of the student bus pass and will decrease additional organizational fees, saving undergraduate students more than $120 this fall.

Student town hall regarding the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic

All students are invited to a virtual town hall hosted by MSU VP (Education), Fawziyah Isah and MPP Sandy Shaw concerning the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on students. Student Representative Assembly adopts comprehensive stance regarding McMaster's Security Services

At its June 14 meeting, the Student Representative Assembly (SRA), the highest governing body of the MSU, passed a motion calling on McMaster Unviersity to defund campus security, invest in racially and culturally diverse mental health support and harm reduction programs, and remove Glenn De Caire as Director of Security and Parking Services.

McMaster Students Union stands with all students combatting anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism

In light of the tragic deaths of Regis Korchinski-Paquet, George Floyd, D’Andre Campbell and countless other lives lost to police brutality, the MSU stands in solidarity with those calling out and combatting racism and police violence. For this reason, we call on McMaster Security Services to release all aggregated data relating to stops, detainments and arrests made on campus, as well as the demographic data of those individuals.
