MSU hiring managers and staff for 2017/18 academic year

The McMaster Students Union is hiring part-time managers for the 2017-2018 academic year, for over a dozen MSU services including Spark, MACycle, Maroons, and SWHAT. All MSU members (full-time undergraduate students taking 18 units or more) are encouraged to apply for these paid positions: previous experience with the MSU is not required. MSU Presidential Election Nomination Period Now Open

December 2, 2016 at 14:00 pm

The nomination period for the MSU Presidential Election is now open. All MSU members are welcome to nominate themselves. Nominees must use the Presidential Election Nomination form and submit it to the MSU office by Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 5pm. Students will also be asked to vote on three referenda concurrent to the MSU Presidential Election in January 2017.

Highlighting MSU finances at MSU Open House

The McMaster Students Union is hosting the MSU Open House on Monday, November 28 from 11am-4pm in MUSC Marketplace. It is an opportunity to drop-in and engage with members of the Board of Directors and members of the Student Representative Assembly (SRA), and share your opinions on where the MSU should be investing its money or other concerns regarding MSU finances.

#myWILis campaign advocating for more work integrated learning on campus

The MSU is joining students across Ontario in participating in #myWILis, a campaign by the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) that advocates for more work integrated learning (WIL) opportunities on campus. Students are encouraged to share the kinds of WIL opportunities they are seeking, and what it means to them.

MSU condemns bigoted propaganda in MUSC

Racial and religious bigotry have no place on our campus. This morning, Monday November 21, posters were found in the Student Centre that perpetuate a viewpoint not shared by the students of McMaster University, the McMaster Students Union or the larger McMaster community. The McMaster Students Union unequivocally condemns the message of these posters and applauds McMaster University for its quick action to remove them.

MSU & University to propose Athletics & Recreation expansion, Student Activity Building and Pulse membership for all MSU members

McMaster students have made it clear that space is becoming more-and-more limited on campus.  Students, MSU clubs and faculty societies have all noted the growing lack of lounge space, study space, multi-faith prayer space and low (or no) -cost event space. Should students be willing to make the investment, a new Student Activity Build could greatly enhance student life on campus.
