Over the past 30 years, McMaster students and Hamiltonians have raised over $486,000 in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. Each year, students, faculty members, and residents of the local community sign up to wheel, walk or run a 5K or 10K course around the McMaster University.
The 2015 Terry Fox Run will be held on the fields in front of the Burke Science Building (BSB) and the John Hodgins Engineering Building (JHE) at McMaster University at noon on Sunday, September 20th. The Terry Fox Run has be re-vamped this year to include an alternate activity to running/walking the route as well as many other activities to enjoy both before and after the run/walk.
Registration starts one hour before the run/walk. Many activities planned are planned for the intervening hour, such as games, a photo booth, signing of a celebratory banner, and raffle prizes, as well as great warm ups.
This year, the MSU Terry Fox campaign has set a goal of raising $10,000. All funds raised will go directly to the Terry Fox Foundation. Donations can be made online or with a pledge page that can be printed out and brought to the run. Donations can also be made on Run Day.
Kobina Baiden, a member of the executive team for MSU Terry Fox, said, "The Terry Fox Run is an annual Charity event here at McMaster University that brings together the community and several students to engage in a variety of different acitivities, games, and of course run! All student are encouraged to participate and help keep Terry's dream of hope alive."
