‘Once Upon A Time’ Formal presented by MSU Maroons November 26

November 12, 2015 at 16:00 pm

The MSU Maroons will host their annual formal at the historic Scottish Rite Club of Hamilton on Thursday, November 26, with doors opening at 7:00pm. All McMaster students and guests are welcome. Tickets will be sold at the MSU Compass Information Centre (MUSC Atrium) for an early-bird price of $20 until Friday, November 13 or while quantities last. Tickets will subsequently be sold at the regular price of $25 until they are sold out.

The ‘Once Upon a Time’ theme will include decor inspired by an enchanted forest, reinforcing the Maroons’ partnership with SCSN to promote local natural sites through the Discover Your City program. There will be appetizers and a cash bar. Students of legal drinking age (19+) should bring their ID. Music will be provided by the talented DJ Macro, who is also a Maroon rep. DJ Macro is looking for song requests.

Transportation will not be provided; however, the venue is easily accessible by HSR routes 1A, 5A, 5C, 5E, 10B, and 51, all eastbound. Parking is also available onsite. The MSU Maroons remind students not to drink and drive, but rather to plan responsible transportation ahead of time. In addition to the HSR routes listed above, Tourism Hamilton maintains a list of taxi companies that service the area.

“The Maroon Formal is a great opportunity to meet student leaders and get engaged with the MSU, ” said Nicole Vandenheuvel, Maroons Coordinator. “The Scottish Rite Club is a beautiful venue and the opportunity to explore it with your friends seems like a good night to me. It’s a way to discover part of Hamilton while taking a break with fun people before the exam grind begins. Why not check out a castle while you're at it?”
