McMaster investigating reports of weekend assault / harassment

The McMaster Students Union is aware of numerous reports from students concerning incidents of harassment and assault which occurred on campus over the weekend. Having communicated with senior officials within McMaster University, the MSU is confident that McMaster is taking the matter very seriously. In addition, Hamilton Police Services has been contacted and is involved in the investigation.

Outstanding Leadership Rewarded at 36th Annual Student Recognition Night

Every year, the McMaster Students Union and McMaster University come together in recognition of exceptional student leaders. This year, the 36th annual Student Recognition Night was held on March 22 at the historic LiUNA Station. Awards were presented in seven different categories, recognizing a variety of achievements over the last year, or over the winners’ careers at McMaster University.

Light Up the Night is April 8, feat: Yukon Blonde and Strombo

Light Up the Night on April 8 from 6-11pm with thousands of bulbs strung-up down Scholars Rd., culminating with a fireworks show at 10 PM. Free rides, food and fun, with musical performances by Yukon Blonde and Darenots.  George Stroumboulopoulos will deliver a Last Lecture in Burridge Gym with a Q&A to follow.  Details at www.macblockparty.ca.

Annual "Art Matters Week" runs March 7-11, 2016

The Humanities Caucus of the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) has teamed up with the McMaster Humanities Society (MHS) to organize the first annual "Art Matters Week," a campaign designed to celebrate the importance of the humanities across all professions and faculties. The campaign will run from Monday, March 7 to Friday, March 11, 2016 and feature a series of events across campus, culminating in Hamilton's James Street Art Crawl. McMaster Alumni has also partnered in an event dedicated to raising awareness of the impact of the arts.
