Delegate Applications Open for OUSA Spring General Assembly

The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) will be hosting its bi-annual General Assembly (GA) on campus at McMaster from March 19-22. The MSU, as a member of OUSA, will be sending eight student delegates to this year's Spring General Assembly, where discussions of additions and changes to official OUSA policy will take place. If you want to improve post-secondary education for McMaster students, or are interested government relations and/or politics, you are encouraged to apply to be an MSU delegate to OUSA GA.

#MacTalks: The MSU's Mental Health and Wellness Awareness Week

In order to facilitate meaningfull conversations around the issues of mental health and illness, the McMaster Students Union (MSU) is running #MacTalks, a Mental Health and Wellness Awareness Week, from February 23-27. The week also coincides with the release of McMaster's "Student Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy" launch, which highlights the continuing work being done by the University to address the mental health needs of students.

MSU Meets with Ontario Cabinet Ministers to Discuss PSE Enhancements

Reza Moridi, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities as well as Ted McMeekin, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing (and MPP for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale) recently met with members of the MSU, as well as student leaders from Mohawk College and Redeemer University College inside the MSU Boardroom to discuss post-secondary educational policy.http://www.ousa.ca

2015 Spring Valedictorian Nominations Now Open!

The McMaster Students Union is excited to announce that the Spring Valedictorian Nomination Process is officially open, and will continue running until March 9th at 4:30 PM. Both full- and part-time undergraduate students with a Cumulative Average of at least 7.0 are eligible to become the Valedictorians for their graduating class, with one needed for each of the convocation ceremonies that will take place in the spring. Nominations close on Monday, March 9th at 4:30 PM, and late packages will not be excepted. Best of luck to all candidates!

MSU Teaching Awards Winter Nomination Period Now Open: February 2-20

After receiving nearly 1000 nominations for outstanding professors and teaching assistants in the fall, the MSU Teaching Awards Committee (TAC) is now accepting nominations for the winter term. The nomination period is open from February 2 – February 20, 2015 and nominators will be entered to win one of two $50 gift cards for TwelvEighty or The Campus Store. Nomination forms can be accessed online as a survey here.
