Applications are open for the OUSA Fall General Assembly

The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) will be hosting its bi-annual General Assembly (GA) at the University of Waterloo from November 12 – 15, 2015. The MSU, as a member of OUSA, will be sending seven student delegates to this year's Fall GA. Any FT undergraduate student may apply to be an OUSA delegate.

Nominations for MSU Teaching Awards are open October 5th-25th

The MSU Teaching Awards are presented in six categories, each of which involves a thorough, multi-dimensional process of nomination and deliberation. Students nominate instructors for the Faculty, Teaching Assistant, and Pedagogical Innovation Awards during the nomination period of October 5-25.

McMaster Students Thrilled with Provincial Announcement to Fund Hamilton Light Rail Transit

Premier Kathleen Wynne, along with Ministers McMeekin and Del Duca, made a historic announcement at McMaster today, pledging up to $1 billion to create a light rail transit (LRT) system in Hamilton.  The announcement was the culmination of years of advocacy efforts by many in the City of Hamilton, including the McMaster Students Union (MSU).

MSU Vice President (Education) Spencer Nestico-Semianiw Elected OUSA President

The MSU's Vice President (Education) Spencer Nestico-Semianiw was elected Friday, May 15 to serve as the President of the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), which represents student concerns related to post-secondary education at the provincial level. An integral pillar of the MSU, advocacy for post-secondary education is the primary responsibility of the Vice President (Education), Nestico-Semianiw. His new concurrent role as OUSA President will offer MSU constituents a leading voice with one of the MSU's strongest provincial lobbying partners.
