Extended hours for Thode Library, thanks to student advocacy

September 22, 2017 at 10:57 am

Thanks to coordinated advocacy efforts from several campus groups, from the end of fall break until the beginning of exam period, H. G. Thode Library of Science & Engineering will extend its hours until 3AM every Sunday – Thursday.

Longer library hours have consistently been a priority for McMaster undergraduate students for several years. With strong leadership from the McMaster Science Society, this project has been supported by student organizations across campus. The McMaster Science Society, McMaster Social Science Society, Bachelor of Health Sciences Society, McMaster Engineering Society, Society of Arts and Science, McMaster University Nursing Student Society, McMaster Kinesiology Society, and Society of Off-Campus Students. The MSU Associate Vice President University Affairs, continuing the work of the University Affairs Committee, has worked to lobby for this change on behalf of the McMaster Students Union.

Once exam season begins, Thode will continue to be open twenty four hours. Current Thode Library hours can be found here
