SCSN Homecoming Community Cleanup

September 28, 2017 at 09:00 am

The Student Community Support Network (SCSN), is a service that focuses on expanding and strengthening positive relationships between McMaster students and the local community. SCSN aims to foster a sense of community in the West Hamilton Area, encourage students to explore the city of Hamilton, and act as a local resource and support for off-campus students through events and programming.

Every year during Homecoming, McMaster and SCSN ask students to be respectful of their neighbours during weekend festivities. In demonstration of the MSU’s commitment to building positive relations with community members, SCSN is hosting the Homecoming Community Cleanup on October 1. This event allows for students to show their care for the city of Hamilton, the residents of Ainslie Wood / Westdale, and to establish themselves as active members of the community.

SCSN encourages McMaster students and community members to come out to help with the cleanup on Sunday, October 1. The event is taking place from 11 AM to 1 PM, with check-in at Mills Plaza where volunteers will receive materials and instructions. Groups will then go to designated areas to clean-up garbage and debris. Volunteers who sign in will be provided with pizza afterwards as a thank you for assisting with the cleanup.
