November 7, 2017 at 09:00 am

Every year, the Queer Students Community Centre (QSCC) runs Mac Pride, an opportunity to celebrate and support LGBTQ+ students on campus. This year, the service aims to continue the tradition with a week of programming from Monday, November 6 to Friday, November 10, designed to connect and hold space for the diversity within LGBTQ+ communities at McMaster.

The Mac Pride Rally and March will take place on Wednesday. Face and sign painting is being offered at 12:30 in MUSC 221, followed by the Mac Pride March beginning at 1:30 PM at Commons.

‘Let’s Talk Queer: Queerness & Disability,’ is being offered in collaboration with Maccess on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in MUSC B111. On Wednesday, ‘Let’s Talk Queer: Sex,’ will take place in MUSC 302 from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM, and on Friday ‘Let’s Talk Queer:Relationships’ is set to occur from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM (location TBA).

On Thursday, there will be a Queer Coffeehouse taking place from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM (location TBA). To sign up for the coffeehouse, click here. There will also be an opportunity for members of the audience to choose to perform during the night of the coffeehouse. To end the week off, the Annual Drag Show will take place on Friday from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Students interested in signing up to participate in the show can do so here.

To keep up with the events being hosted throughout the week, students are encouraged to visit the Facebook Mac Pride page for further details.
