Donate mittens, scarves and hats to the Mitten Tree in MUSC 201

November 29, 2017 at 09:00 am

Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to donate new or gently used mittens, scarves and hats of all sizes to the MSU’s annual Mitten Tree in support of Wesley Urban Ministries. The tree is located in the MSU Office (MUSC 201), and will be awaiting donations on weekdays from 9 AM - 5 PM until December 14. The winter gear will be donated to Wesley’s annual Christmas and Holiday Store, an initiative that allows families living below the poverty line to select gifts and food items in a dignified shopping experience.

Victoria Scott, MSU Administrative Services Coordinator, believes in this initiative because it helps support Hamilton families.

"Donating to the Mitten Tree is a great and easy way to give back to the surrounding community during the holidays,” Scott says. “This initiative makes it easier to celebrate the holiday season by alleviating some of the stress that comes with purchasing these items.”
