SOS Presents: Shave for a Cure

November 14, 2012 at 16:53 pm

On Friday November 16th, Smiling Over Sickness – a recognized and funded club of the MSU is holding their 12th annual Shave for a Cure event. It will be held in the MUSC Atrium from 10 am to 2pm and will feature McMaster students shaving their heads for paediatric cancer awareness. All proceeds will be donated Camp Trillium, which offers and promotes recreational experiences to bring children with cancer and their families together. Raffle prizes, entertainment events and various MSU clubs will also be present!

Smiling Over Sickness is a club focused on addressing the unique challenges of seriously ill children. Members volunteer their time, money and resources raising awareness and funds for partner organizations which help put smiles on the faces of sick children. Additionally, they will spend time in the McMaster's Children Hospital doing arts and crafts with patients and helping them just be kids.

If you would like to get involved with Smiling Over Sickness, email Natasha Wickert at sos@mcmaster.ca or check out their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/groups/15188872172/?fref=ts.
