ClubsFest, the clubs fair held at the beginning of each term, allows the opportunity for the multitude of clubs at McMaster to promote themselves while showcasing the varied interests of the McMaster student body and encouraging engagement from both new and returning students alike. This year, ClubsFest will take place on Wednesday, September 5th, from 10am to 4pm. Tables will be located in the Market Place of MUSC, Mills Library Plaza, and the lawns of BSB and JHE. Registration for ClubsFest is currently open, apply before August 14th at 11:59pm to secure your table.
The expansion of ClubsFest 2018 in both size and duration will allow for increased interaction between Clubs and students, and create a more accessible environment where all students can become informed of the diverse range of opportunities available to them. With over 300 Clubs offering something unique at ClubsFest, McMaster students can take the first step in becoming involved with a community on campus tailored to their specific interests.
Table registration will be online at www.msumcmaster.ca/clubsfest-18 with online payment on the same page. All table assignments will be sent out in August.
When asked what she was looking forward to most throughout her term as MSU Clubs Administrator, Josephine Liauw, said she was looking forward to organizing a new series of workshops in the upcoming year that are designed to provide McMaster student leaders with information and resources that can help them create and improve upon sustainable strategies that enhance the functioning of their Club. “Informed by the feedback provided to the Clubs Department in the past, the workshops will be centered around topics such as Social Media and Promotions, Finance and Sponsorship, and Event Planning.” Liauw added, “These workshops will also allow for collaboration with various McMaster services such as the Student Success Centre, in an effort to build connections and bring further awareness to the benefits that Clubs gain from utilizing existing platforms and resources.”
ClubsFest occurs twice annually at the start of each academic term.
