The PCC presents Transcendence, from February 12 - 15

February 8, 2019 at 12:00 pm

Hosted by MSU Pride Community Centre (PCC), Transcendence is four days of programming from February 12 - 15, dedicated to transgender students on campus.

On Tuesday, Dear Me is a reflective letter writing exercise and creative art event, closed to trans people in MUSC 220 from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. In the evening, Trans Community Group: Party Time Edition is taking place from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in MUSC 219/221 and is closed to trans people and their guests. This event is a continuation of the PCC biweekly trans group, complete with snacks.

Bodies of Resistance, a collaboration with MSU Maccess, is happening at The Grind from 5:30 - 7:30 PM on Wednesday. This coffeehouse is open to everyone, however preference will be given to trans/disabled performers. There will be free cookies and coffee for guests. Sign up to perform on the google form by clicking here.

Ch-Ch-Changes is taking place on Thursday from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM in MUSC 224, featuring experienced community members talking about the processes involved with legally changing one’s name and gender marker, and starting hormones.

Lastly, on Friday, What a Look is occurring in MUSC 220 from 12:30 - 2:30 PM. There will be conversations surrounding expressing one’s style, painting nails, makeup tutorials, and opportunities to learn about gender affirming items like packers and binders. Those interested in donating unused makeup for this event can bring it to the PCC space in MUSC 219.

To keep up with the events being hosted throughout the week, students are encouraged to visit the Facebook Pride Community Centre page for further details.
