Nominations for the 2019/2020 Student Representative Assembly are open until February 28

Nominations for the 2019/2020 Student Representative Assembly (SRA) election are now open, and will close on February 28 at 5 PM. For the nomination form, the number of seats in the SRA for each faculty, and important documents for running in the election, click here.

The Student Representative Assembly (SRA), the governing body of the MSU, is composed of 31 undergraduate students elected by their peers, inside each academic faculty. Together, they work to provide the best possible MSU services and departments, represent and address the concerns of undergraduate students, and lobby the University to improve McMaster’s academic quality.

“If you have a passion for leadership, collaboration, and improving the student experience, the SRA is a great way of advocating on behalf of students to create positive change at McMaster,” says Elizabeth Wong, MSU Speaker. “Previous MSU experience is not necessary in order to serve as an assembly member.”

The timeline for the SRA nominations and election period is as follows:

Nominations: February 7 - February 28 at 5 PM
All-Candidates Meeting: February 28 at 6 PM in Burke Science Building (BSB) 137
Campaigning Period: March 1 - March 11, starting at 12 PM
Voting Dates: March 8  - March 11, ending at 5 PM via

*Please note: The original advertised dates for voting were March 5 and 6.  However, due to several weather related university closures throughout February, Voting will begin March 8 at 9am, remain open inclusive of the weekend, ending at 5pm on Monday, March 11. This change did not impact the nomination period and took effect prior to the beginning of the campaign period.

During the polling dates, students can vote using their Mac ID at Nomination packages are available electronically here or available as physical packages in the MSU Office (MUSC 201). All nomination forms are due in MUSC 201 by 5 PM on February 28, and expense sheets are due by 12 PM on March 8.
