SHEC Week 2019: Whole Body Health

From March 4 to 8, 2019, the MSU Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) is proud to present SHEC Week 2019: Whole Body Health. This week of programming is centred around exploring different angles of the complex term 'health,' whether through learning about how to deploy Naloxone safely or discussing how we can improve mental health service accessibility.
The list of events is as follows:
Know the ropes, reverse an overdose
|March 4 from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM in MUSC 311/313
Student can learn from a Public Health Nurse how to deploy Naloxone safely. SHEC volunteers will be around throughout the event to talk about their Harm Reduction campaigns and provide confidential peer support. Food and a limited number of free Naloxone kits will be available. Interested students can sign up here.
March 4 from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in Connections Centre (Mills 1st Floor)
Come to the Puppy Room event, hosted in collaboration with Maccess to hang out with some scruffy friends and discuss how to advocate for closing the gap between those that want to access mental health services and the availability of those services.

SHEC and the Food Collective Centre will be providing a free granola and yogurt bar, as well as letting students sign out the service’s cookbooks. Students can bring their own bowls to take their creation home and win a special prize.
March 6 from 5:45 PM- 6:15PM on Facebook Live
In collaboration with The Pulse, a full-body workout for all levels and abilities will be livestreamed so students can participate without stepping out of their bedrooms or homes. The workout will be facilitated by a trainer from The Pulse. Take a study break and get ready to sweat for a chance to win a one-month pass to De La Sol Yoga Studio. March 7 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PMin MUSC 230
Join SHEC and the Pride Community Centre for a screening of The Feels (2017). Popcorn, blankets, and drinks will all be provided – plus, there will be a raffle for guests to win a special prize.

March 8 from 10:30 AM -11:30 AM on Facebook Live
SHEC and PCC’s very own volunteers will be answering sexual health-related questions, submitted anonymously, over Facebook Live. Tune in to learn more about sexual wellness from wherever you may be. Stay tuned to SHEC’s Facebook page for the livestream.
