MSU Speaker and Vice President nominations open until April 6
March 13, 2019 at 09:00 am
Nominations for the MSU Vice President and Speaker positions are open until April 6 at 10:00 AM. Those who wish to run for a position need only to attend the SRA meeting at 10:00 AM in Gilmour Hall 111 (Council Chambers) on April 7. No campaign is required for any of the available positions.
The elections will be held by the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) on April 6 and 7. Any MSU member (an undergraduate student enrolled in 18 or more units) can run and will be nominated to do so at the SRA meeting. This election process gives each candidate the opportunity to speak to their qualifications and ideas, after which Assembly members have the chance to question each of the nominees.
The MSU Speaker is responsible for presiding over meetings of the SRA and General Assembly, ensuring they run smoothly according to constitutional procedures in a fair and equitable manner. For more information on the Board of Directors and Speaker positions, along with details on the electoral process, click here or visit the Elections Department webpage.
Any student intending to run, interested in running, or wanting to talk to the nominees are encouraged to attend Meet the VP’s at TwelvEighty in April 2 at 5:00pm. Free food will be available for those attending.
