March 21, 2019 at 09:00 am
In collaboration with the MSU Finance Committee, Scott Robinson, Vice President (Finance) is hosting drop-in events to engage students and facilitate conversations about how the MSU spends its money. The financial transparency fair will take place Thursday, March 21 in MUSC in front of Starbucks from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM and in the MUSC Atrium on Friday, March 22 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
“As the VP Finance, it is my responsibility to ensure that student money is spent effectively and that our organization is financially transparent to our members”, says Scott Robinson. “In addition to ensuring a wide range of documents are easily accessible online and developing a video detailing how the MSU spends the Operating Fee, I wanted to host in-person events to give students another opportunity to learn about the finances of the organization.”
The ‘Your Money’ section of the MSU website has been updated with new infographics, giving students a quick and easy way to understand where their money is spent. Additionally, operating budgets, capital budgets, and professionally audited statements for the past eight years are available on the MSU website and can be accessed by clicking here. Monthly financial updates to the Student Representative Assembly are also available online.
