The MSU is currently hiring six Associate Vice-Presidents (AVPs), each chairing a standing committee of the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) and any directly related ad-hoc committees of the SRA. The AVPs will determine the direction of their committee in a way that suits the role of the committee and the interests of the Assembly, and work closely with the MSU's Vice Presidents throughout their 2019/2020 term. All MSU members (full time undergraduate students taking 18 units or more) are eligible to apply. Applications for these paid positions are accepted until April 14, 2019 at 11:59 pm. The positions of AVPs function both operationally as well as politically in the MSU. The six standing committees chaired by an AVP all have different focuses, comprised of SRA members and MSU members. They are responsible for reporting directly to the Board of Directors, working on projects falling under a Vice President’s portfolio, and providing feedback and advice. In addition, the role of an AVP involves attending meetings that are relevant to their portfolio as advised by the respective Vice President.
The available Associate Vice-President positions are: Services, University Affairs, Internal Governance, Provincial & Federal Affairs, Municipal Affairs, and Finance.
