Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) launches sleep campaign

April 15, 2019 at 09:00 am

The MSU Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) is hosting a Sleep Campaign, providing students with information, tips, and facts relating to sleep. Considering the essential nature of sleep as a part of one’s daily routine, SHEC aims to help students learn about a variety of sleep-related concepts with educative infographics.

Sydney Taylor, SHEC Research & Advocacy Coordinator, highlights the importance of sleep as a topic to address because of the sleep patterns students sometimes fall into, especially during exam season.

“For this campaign, the Research and Advocacy Committee wanted to cover general sleep hygiene recommendations and also include fresh content such as the science behind naps and relevant podcasts,” says Taylor. “Overall, we hope that this campaign normalizes discussions about our sleep habits, introduces tips and tricks for better sleep, and improves how we take care of ourselves during this stressful time.”

For tips on a better sleep, information about dreams, the science of naps, an overview of substances and falling asleep, in addition to apps, podcasts, and music for sleepless nights, click here.
