SHEC it out: new light therapy and pregnancy testing process from the Student Health Education Centre

The Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) has recently expanded their service offerings, including updates to their pregnancy testing procedure and the addition of a light therapy lamp. SHEC’s popular event, Sex 101, is back this year for two nights in partnership with McMaster medical students. SEX 101 is a night filled with games, trivia, and frank conversations covering important topics including health, relationships, and consent.

Tickets are currently on sale for the 21st Charity Ball on Friday, January 25, 2019 for only $45 (plus HST) both online and at Compass. This special pricing will remain until January 6, 2019. Starting on January 7, tickets for Charity Ball will increase to $60.00 (plus HST). Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here or in person at Compass in MUSC.

Newly renovated Pride Community Centre is open

The Pride Community Centre ( PCC) operates in MUSC 219/221, a space that recently benefited from interior updates to make the space more welcoming, as well as more accessible for those using mobility aids. Additionally, there is now a dual space setup where people can opt to use the space in a public or more private manner.

MSU Spark weekly mentorship program Winter 2018 registration

Spark is an MSU service that supports first-year students throughout their transition to McMaster. One of the main aspects of Spark is the weekly mentorship program, where small groups of first-year students are connected with upper-year mentors. Students interested in securing a spot for the upcoming Winter 2019 term can pre-register via the Spark website.

Diversity Services is aimed at building equity and strengthening diversity on campus through advocacy, event planning, and community building. Applications for their Community Events and Planning (CEP) Committee and the Social & Political Advocacy (SPA) Committee are available.
