MSU Presidential Election and Referendum 2018

The campaign period for the MSU Presidential Election has officially begun. Polling will open online January 23, 2018 at 9:00AM, and both campaigning and polling will end January 25, 2018 at 5PM. More information about the candidates and their individual platforms can be accessed here

Advocating for Open Educational Resources with the #TextbookBroke campaign

The MSU, through the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance, will be running a campaign to advocate for Open Educational Resources (OERs) from January 8 - 19. OERs are educational materials, including textbooks, modules and tests, that are in the public domain or introduced with an open license.

CFMU 93.3FM is award winning radio and much, much more

CFMU 93.3FM is McMaster’s campus/community radio station, owned and operated by the McMaster Students Union. CFMU hosts a variety of radio shows, authors a blog, and also recently have started releasing numerous video series covering local news and music.

Part-time wage grid changes effective January 2018

Recently, the Ontario legislature passed the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, which included an increase to Ontario’s General minimum wage to $14 per hour in 2018, with another increase to $15 per hour in 2019. As of January 1, 2018 a new wage grid for part-time staff within the McMaster Students Union will come into effect.
