McMaster University’s annual fundraising campaign raising money for Cystic Fibrosis research and care!

What is Shinerama?

Shinerama is the largest post-secondary fundraiser across Canada, involving more than 35,000 students from over 60 university and college campuses. Shinerama raises money and generates awareness for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is the most common, fatal genetic disease affecting 1 in 25 Canadians. It is estimated that 1 in every 3,600 children born in Canada has cystic fibrosis. Almost 4,000 Canadian children, adolescents, and adults with cystic fibrosis attend specialized CF clinics.

When is Shinerama?

Shine Day this year will be held on SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2016– the second Saturday of Welcome Week. Last year, we surpassed our goal making us the top fundraising school in the country! This year, our goal is to remain on top as the number one national team! You can help us reach these goals through supporting a variety of fundraisers during the summer and Welcome Week and most importantly, by coming out to Shine Day!

Why Shine?

It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, get involved and make a difference in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis in Canada. So, bring yourself, and your residence, and your faculty, out on Saturday morning! The more people you bring, the more money we will raise bringing us closer to finding a cure or effective control against CF!
