What is Charity Ball

Each year the McMaster Students Union (MSU) hosts a gala event known as the McMaster Charity Ball. In the last 20 years, the event has raised over $250,000 for local Hamilton and area charities. Past recipients of funds have included Micha House, The Wever Community Hub, Big Brothers & Sisters Hamilton – Burlington, the Ronald McDonald House Hamilton, McMaster Children’s Hospital, Juravinski Cancer Centre (Breast Cancer Research) and the Breast Cancer Support Centre, the CNIB, Wellwood Cancer Centre, Mac Wheelers Spinal Cord Rehabilitation, Independence Technologies (ALS), Good Shepherd Centres, the Animal Welfare Association, Food4Kids, and Eva Rothwell Centre.

This year marks the 21st Charity Ball. An estimated 2000 students will be in attendance at the Hamilton Convention Centre to dance the night away on Jan. 25th, 2019 and an anticipated $15,000 plus will be raised.

This event features three themed rooms, live entertainment, late night hors d’oeuvres, a virtual gaming centre, a silent auction and much more!

All proceeds from this event will go to a Hamilton based charity.

Anyone is welcome at Charity Ball. However, McMaster students can be all ages with a valid Mac ID, but guests or students who are not from McMaster have to be 19+ with a valid government ID.
