  • A severe fine of $15 to this side for having a non-MSU member campaigning, in violation of Referendum Rule 2.6
  • A standard fine of $5 to this side for not having a link to the Elections MSU website on YouTube account campaigning material, in violation of Referendum Rule 4.14

  • A standard fine of $5 to this side for having an oversized banner at their table, in violation of Referendum Rule 5.6.1

The Elections Committee felt that due to the number of large number of violations and severity of the fines that this may have influenced the voters and violated the integrity of the election. Therefore the Elections Committee has voted to disqualify the Exclusive Club Card Yes campaign side.

Because of these reasons outlined above, the Elections Committee has elected to invalidate the referendum.

Due to the invalidation of the election the ballots will not be opened or counted, and therefore the results will not be released.

The format of this at large election is currently undefined and could take on different forms.

Amendments to the MSU Constitution require a two-thirds affirmative vote in order to pass. Abstentions will not be included in calculating the vote total.

The MSU Constitution requires the SRA to make a recommendation on this referendum. The Student Representative Assembly voted on October 16, 2016 to give a negative recommendation for these amendments, and is encouraging students to vote 'no'.

This bike pass will be a one-year membership and will include 1.5 hours of riding per day, a $15 credit, and access to all Sobi bikes. There will be an option to opt out of this fee.

A proposal was brought forth to the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) on September 25, 2016  (can be found here) to ask students if they would like to discontinue the Marmor fee. Currently, there is a fee of $9.22 collected from all MSU members every year regardless of their year of study. This referendum will ask for the Marmor fee to end effective the 2017-2018 academic year, while still providing physical copies of the Marmor, through the graduating class of 2020. The nature of each year’s Marmor will correspond with a student’s financial contribution through the graduating class of 2020.
