Health and Dental Insurance

The MSU Health and Dental Insurance plans covers full-time undergraduate students at McMaster University enrolled in 18 units or more. Coverage runs from September 1 to August 31. A detailed brochure can be found here

** the 2019/20 policy year has been extended until September 30, 2020! Outstanding claims will still need to be submitted by November 30, 2020

The 2020/21 policy year will still start on September 1, 2020.

Please note: during the month of September until mid-October, there will be a blackout period. Coverage starts on September 1, so you are covered by the plan but must manually (mail in) submit any claim forms during this period, or wait to submit them electronically in mid-October. This is because we are still waiting on the student lists from the University, as well as having to wait until the opt-out period is closed.

Through contractual agreements, the following McMaster students are also covered:

  • Midwifery Students
  • MBA Students
  • Commerce Internship Students
  • Undergraduate Medical Students

Part-time students may now opt into the MSU plan. Please visit the MAPS website or for more information.

There are coverage exclusions for Varsity Athletes. Click here for details and contact information.

Graduate Students (except MBA students) are NOT covered by this plan. Please visit the GSA website for more information.
